Snow, snow, snow!

December 24th, 2008

So we’ve been here in Breckenridge since Saturday. Sunday we enjoyed most of a Denver Broncos game. It was an interesting experience. We all got a little cold so left during fourth quarter. Monday we skiied at Breckenridge. The view of the Rockies up on the slopes was amazing. Tuesday we skiied at Keystone; my legs hurt so I didn’t ski very much. But Chase took the Gondola up to keep me company and take in the view himself. Today we’re heading down to Copper Mountain for snow tubing. Tomorrow we’ll spend a lazy day here at the house enjoying a leisurely breakfast followed by gifts. Friday I think the family is going up to Vail; but Chase and I are planning on attempting to snowboard at Breckenridge. It seems that Breckenridge is the “beginner’s” or “easy” mountain of the mountains in this area. Saturday we’ll fly home and pick up our boys. Assuming no one (aka me) breaks a bone this trip like the last snow trip with my family.

Once again, Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

December 14th, 2008

For our friends and family that don’t frequent our site, welcome! And for the few that do, welcome back! Just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our friends and family.

We usually try to keep the site up-to-date on what’s going on with us; haven’t been but so successful lately. So here’s what’s new (or the same) with us:

Katie’s still working on her Master’s in Medicinal Chemistry. She’ll hopefully be defending late Jan-early Feb. We’re hoping she’ll get a job around here since we’ve gotten attached to all of our wonderful friends here in Richmond. But as any scientist knows, research just doesn’t go the way you expect and always takes longer than anticipated.

Chase is still one of three in the IT department at G.D. But he loves the fact that it’s small enough that every day is different. Right now his department is in the midst of writing a new piece of software for their accountants to use so he’s been quite busy.

In the pet department all of our fish have died, probably due to a fungal infection. But Gizmo and Teddy are doing just fine. Gizmo is just as ornery in the morning as always about going in the kitchen. Teddy has had thankfully much fewer seizures. And this fall they got a new little sister, a little roborovski hamster named Kobito. » Read more: Happy Holidays!

Hosting Changes

December 10th, 2008

I know the photo gallery is down.  Katie and I decided to shift to GoDaddy for our hosting.  I think Verizon caught on to what I was doing and blocked those specific ports.  Oh well, not too big of a deal.  We will have the photo gallery back soon.  We are sending out cards with the web address for the site with our Christmas cards, so we have to get the wedding and Honeymoon photos back first.  They are the largest collection anyway.

Big update on our lives and everything that has happened in the past year from Katie in the next few days.
