Software upgrades. . ./facepalm

June 29th, 2008

Ugh. . .that was torture.  Not only am I nursing a mild hangover (you people at the wedding need to learn to drink more beer), I just spend the past 2 hours upgrading and then fixing the blog.  For some odd reason the WPG2 Plugin (the one that links the photo gallery to the blog) didn’t want to work properly.  I got it fixed, but to be honest I don’t know exactly what I did to fix it.

Anyway, we are going to go see Wall-E in a bit, after that we will post up all the pictures from the wedding and the honeymoon.  Then maybe I can get back to playing GTAIV some more.

EDIT: Errrrrrrrrrr. . .maybe it’s not fully fixed yet. . .GRRRR

EDIT #2:  After playing around for a long while, we changed a few things and updated some stuff.  A few small tweaks to do and everything should be set.

Software Upgrades and the Like

June 27th, 2008

I know, I know.  I haven’t posted the pictures from the honeymoon yet.  This is due to two small little things.

  1. I haven’t gotten the underwater pictures back from Target yet, and now we aren’t sure if we will get them back.
  2. I need to upgrade the Blog software (Wordpress), all the extensions that go with it, and the photo gallery software.  This will take a bit of time (either Saturday or Sunday).

Also, I got the Wedding photos.  I will post those too (they are huge files, but I have enough space) after the upgrades are done.

Back to the States

June 21st, 2008

So we’re on our layover in Charlotte and back in the U.S. Unfortunately our flight out of here has been delayed nearly an hour already. But it’s good to be back-ish. And it’ll be great to see our boys tonight. I’ve definitely been missing our balls of fur. I kept going through pictures of them on my Zune on our flight from Grand Cayman to here. I suppose that’s all for now. I’ll catch up more after we get unpacked and open all our gifts when we get home tomorrow morning.

The Airport. . .

June 21st, 2008

Well, Katie and I are currently in the airport in Grand Cayman. This hasn’t been the most pleasent part of our trip. I am glad we dropped the Jeep off at 11:15 because it is definitely busy in here. It seems that most of the flights our of GCM leave around the same time as ours. We have spent the past hours waiting in 3 different lines. The line to check in, the security line, and then the immigration line. Katie is now currently waiting in the 4th line attempting to get us sandwiches so we can eat something before we fly for 3 hours. I guess the good news is that the in-bound aircraft left a little early and will be here early.

A Beautiful Sunset to End a Beautiful Honeymoon

June 20th, 2008

Tonight we dined at The Wharf, a restaurant right on the waterfront. As per the usual Cayman fare it was fantastic food. The view was gorgeous. We got there before sundown and were able to enjoy our meal as the sun was setting right in front of us. Unfortunately I forgot the camera so I can’t share pictures. But they also have there own little thing that they do there where they feed the tarpon at 9pm each night. When we arrived at 6:30pm there were a few hanging out around the feeding post; maybe six at most. By the time we left, at 7:45pm, there were well over 40 swimming back and forth. It was quite a sight.

But before our wonderful dinner that cost in the ballpark of $110 CI (you do the math), we enjoyed a day up at Rum Point. It’s the northern point of the island on the eastern side. Fun little beach and really shallow water. We waded out abut 100 yards or so and the water was only 4 feet deep! It was a little over commercialized and of course we had a school trip of elementary kids and a cruise ship excursion to deal with. But it was fun.

While we love this island and can’t wait to come back. We return home tomorrow to our families and dogs. We miss everyone. Pictures will probably be up sometime Sunday.
